Free will is not the freedom to determine what life gives us. It is the freedom to determine the ultimate direction of what we have been given. The righteous soul does not reject its gifts, suppress its desires, or surrender its strength. It receives them all, but claims none as its ultimate purpose. Everything becomes an offering to the Father.
