Questions 10–17
10What is good?
Whatever ultimately directs creation toward God.
11What is evil?
Energy, desire, or action turned away from God or dispersed without Godward direction.
12Why does evil exist?
Because freedom permits energy to move in directions other than God.
13Why does God allow suffering?
Because suffering can become something consciousness catches and offers rather than merely escapes.
14Why do innocent people suffer?
The Godward Way does not claim suffering is deserved. It asks what can be offered from within it.
15Why is life unfair?
Because earthly distribution is not the final measure of meaning. Direction is.
16Why do terrible things happen?
Existence contains rupture, contingency, conflict, and human freedom. None are beyond Godward offering.
17Why do we feel pain?
Pain forces consciousness to encounter what it cannot comfortably ignore.
