Introduction

The Questions Humanity Keeps Asking

1 min · Adam G.

Human beings have spent thousands of years asking essentially the same questions.

Why are we here?
Why does suffering exist?
Who am I?
What is consciousness?
Why does God remain hidden?
What happens when we die?
Why do we desire, love, fear, envy, grieve, create, destroy, and hope?

Religions, philosophers, mystics, psychologists, and scientists have offered different answers. The Godward Way begins somewhere simpler.

Human consciousness receives experience.

Thoughts arise. Emotions arise. Desires arise. Pain arises. Joy arises. Fear arises. Ambition arises.

Our task is neither to become controlled by these experiences nor necessarily to eliminate them.

We catch them.

Then we offer them.

Their direction becomes Godward.

What follows is a concise application of that principle to 105 of humanity’s enduring existential questions.
